We are a native family-owned business with deep roots: Shawnee by ancestry, Cherokee by citizenship. While we are not dentists, our journey as entrepreneurs spans a broad range of projects, from technology innovations to consumer-packaged goods, including preventative oral care.
Insights from Experience
Our involvement with various oral care products seeking entry into the US market has revealed a recurring pattern: most focus solely on the same four minutes a day...the time spent brushing. Despite the variety in ingredients, none offered a truly holistic combination. The market felt crowded, with each product vying for attention yet missing the bigger picture.
A Broader View of Preventative Care
We believe preventative oral care extends far beyond simply fighting cavities and gingivitis; it’s about supporting overall health. Scientists have now linked bacteria in the mouth to over 22 chronic illnesses. Back in 2020, we realized that almost no products effectively addressed the other 23 hours and 56 minutes of the day. Most options for freshening breath were little more than candy.
Innovation Rooted in Science
In our discussions, we reflected on the best ingredients we’d seen across different formulations. From this, we identified five key bioactives backed by more than 20 years of scientific research for their effectiveness in eliminating harmful oral bacteria before it enters the bloodstream—the most important among them being Totarol™ and xylitol.
